When you hold the title of the World’s Largest Bus Manufacturer
you begin to set benchmarks for your competitors to follow.
A great example of this is the patented Yutong Electrocoating Standard (Y.E.S.), which combines a number of anti-corrosion solutions to ensure all Yutong manufactured vehicles can endure the harshest of operating conditions worldwide.
The electrocoating solution combines the use of 16 processes to completely enhance anti-rust performance and increase service life and durability of the vehicle. Through a $AU 75 million investment in April 2008, Yutong partnered with German-based automotive production company, DÜRR
, to produce the system which has become paramount to Yutong’s manufacturing.
The fully automatic and freely programmable heavy duty overhead crane system transports the bus bodies from 6 to 14m in length, which weigh up to 7.5 tons each, from tank to tank through the complete process. With seven cranes in operation, 6.7 units per hour can be coated. An oven follows with a heating system that allows all six curing chambers to be operated independently so as to optimize energy management.
